GumChucks: A New Way to Floss | Cosmetic Dentistry Blog

Cosmetic Dentistry Blog – March 2015

A new flossing system called GumChucks has recently been introduced on the market. They are designed to look like miniature nunchucks, and they have disposable tips that are connected by a piece of dental floss. The two-handled nunchuck design increases dexterity and makes it easier for you to properly floss between your teeth.

Gumchucks offer the following benefits:

  • Easier to floss your back teeth
  • Avoid having your circulation cut off from floss being tightly wrapped around your fingers
  • Improves oral hygiene by keeping your fingers out of your mouth
  • Floss more easily wraps around your teeth, resulting in more effective removal of plaque and bacteria

This new flossing device is by no means an essential oral hygiene tool, much in the same way that it’s unnecessary to purchase an electric toothbrush. However, what is essential is that you floss once a day to remove plaque between your teeth and reduce your risk of gum disease. If you currently don’t floss regularly or struggle to floss effectively, then you may want to give GumChucks a try to see if it helps improve your daily oral hygiene regimen.
